2012 – according to JK
At the end of each year I imagine what the next will bring…I imagined 2011 would be challenging and each step forward would feel so weighted down with pressure and stress that it may have felt more like a step backward (or maybe a step to the side) instead of forward. And that was certainly the case 90% of the time. Even simple ‘tasks’ felt so huge and heavy.
Having reflected on 2011, there were many, many steps forward. Bells N Whistles Weddings is heading upwards – new office, great staff, wonderful new couples to plan weddings for.
A baby in the making – the final chapter for this uterus!
A new home, a new suburb. This new home has is like a breath of fresh air for me and the kids. Great layout – kids seem happier and definitely happier me! It’s not perfect, but we’re getting closer (little steps forward).
2012. What do I imagine for this superb year?
Well, it’s always a risk putting things in writing (on the web) but I’m all about putting my money where my mouth is, making a statement and standing by it, and of course, rising to the challenge of making it a reality.
I think this year will be one of great transformation, one of moving forward with my dreams…not just baby steps or sideways steps…massive, huge steps. Ross Dawson, an amazing Futurist (amongst other things) also says 2012 will be a year of transformation, he writes about it on his blog as well as his wonderful NYE celebrations with his talented wife and jeweller – Victoria Buckley.
Baby #3. I can’t wait. To hold my baby in my arms is the most precious gift and I am eagerly awaiting this privilege and blessing.
Transforming from a family of four, to a family of five. I get my body back (well kinda…the next saga of breastfeeding begins), I stop feeling disabled and un-able and start to have a bit more energy.
BnW – onwards and upwards. Simple, straight forward business strategy…enough said.
This transformation will be in the form of our thinking – going from a small business to a larger one – more staff, more couples, more budget to create wedding magic.
And lastly, me. I’m transforming. From the baby-making miracle that I am (and all women are!) to a healthy, fit woman who loves her body and enjoys life. To a woman who will enjoy dressing up in pretty frocks and wonderful shoes & accessories without feeling like I am wearing a tent – ohh how I miss those days! Might seem frivolous, but sometimes, looking your best has magical powers on your confidence and self esteem – I thank my mum for her words of wisdom on this topic!
I want to look as wonderful as I feel…it’s tall order but we’ll see what we can do. It’ll be hard work, a lot of effort and lots of commitment on my part to get fit and healthy and stay that way…but I can do it…I know I can.
So here’s to 2012, a year of transformation, a year of not just looking forward, but looking upwards. A year of smiles and giggles. Twelve months of large steps forward.

And maybe (hopefully) an office wedding to plan?
